Started all 12 games at quarterback during his true freshman season.

Completed 273 passes for 2,963 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Ranked Top 5 in the Big Ten in completions and passing yards per game (246.9).

His 273 completions is a school record for a freshman and ranks tied for fifth in Maryland's single-season history.

His 2,963 passing yards is a school record for passing yards in a season by a freshman, breaking the record held by Danny O'Brien with 2,438 in 2010. That mark also ranks sixth in a single-season overall at Maryland.

Washington finished eighth in single-season rushing yards by a quarterback with 302.

Threw for 200+ yards in 11 of 12 games making him one of just four FBS true freshmen to accomplish the feat.

Threw for 459 yards in season finale at Michigan State, marking the second most passing yards in a single game in school history.

One of only two Big Ten true freshmen since 1996 to end the year with over 2,500 passing yards and 300 rushing yards.

Had 164 rushing yards at Rutgers, which was the second most by a Maryland QB in a game all-time and set a school record for a freshman.

Threw for 265 yards and accounted for 3 TDs in Maryland's 27-10 win at Wisconsin.

Completed 27 of 43 pass attempts for 258 yards and 3 TDs in collegiate debut against FAU. His 3 TD passes were the most in a true freshman's debut in the Big Ten since 2009 and the most by a true freshman in a Power Conference since 2018 (Clemson's Trevor Lawrence). His 27 completions were the most by a Maryland true freshman quarterback in a game in school history and it was the most completions by a true freshman in a Power Conference debut since Jaxson Dart (USC) had 30 against Washington State in 2021.

Washington became just the ninth true freshman quarterback to start a game in Maryland’s history and he was the first to start a season opener since Perry Hills in 2012.
